Through more than 160 exceptional pieces, which for the most part, have never left their country of origin The exhibition aims to explore the Maya of Guatemala, one of three civilizations that have marked the history of pre-Columbian America.
In a move to valuing the preservation of national patrimony of Guatemala, the exhibition highlights the latest archaeological discoveries recently studied several sites - including El Mirador, which is at the top of the list of five sites selected for appointment as World Heritage by UNESCO.
recent research allows to present a broader and more complex of the Maya civilization, describing the variety and evolution of social organization, its architectural forms and artistic styles.
painted ceramics, stelae, carved stones, burial items, architectural remains, ornaments ..., presented in chronological order, provide a comprehensive overview of the Mayan culture of Guatemala, its development, its heyday and its decline.
The exhibition also provides a current picture of this civilization by presenting a set of photographs and media on contemporary Mayan culture.

Exposure MAYAN from dawn to dusk in Guatemala was conducted in close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Guatemala and the Museo Nacional de Arqueología y Ethnologia of Guatemala City.
